If they are covering, we won't see the result in the ASIC figures for a few days. Of course, there is more than one party doing the shorting. In addition to Mitsubishi and its cohorts, there is that hedge fund Plato that revealed its hand some time ago. Maybe Plato is getting out before the rush?
Looking at a fairly low sell queue, some very tightly held retail shareholders and the outstanding shorts of well over 14M, we could see a very entertaining short squeeze. On the other hand, Mitsubishi and friends do have very deep pockets.
