Vehicle to Grid. Using your car battery as a backup power source. New Tesla Powerwall is 13kw. Model Y battery is 72kw and can power the acerage home for days.
So charge partially off excess solar to car during the day, use car during peak load before midnight, charge car at 8c per kw from midnight to 6 am(EV only special rate). No brainer really. Urge anyone considering an EV to get VTG(not Tesla) as it gives energy and transport resiliency.
Tesla will have to go VTG or lose sales so everyone should be giving that option eventually.
