My guess is that many of the long term holders would have went hard into the options in 2020 and are still very much in a large profit position.
This is the main reason I think the shorters will struggle to make any money here and are putting themselves in a dangerous position. LTH who got into cheap options under $1 likely hold a significant portion of the SOI and still have very few reasons to sell as nothing major about the future potential of this business has changed.
