I’m listening to Sean Illing talking with Yuval Noah Harari on this very topic and he paints a very alarming picture.

At least WBT and the human intelligence behind it, together with a massive effort of will and goodwill, might just give us a chance.
But I am doubtful, given our monumental failure to tackle the climate catastrophe facing us.
