@Waiks I think it's the shorters who are selling then buying. I have thought for a while that they sell with one hand and accumulate with the other. By selling back and forth using algorithmic systems and computers installed next to the ASX computer they can drive the share price down as much as they want. Then, when the music stops they still own most of the shares and have spent very little. This puts them in a position to return a large quantity of the borrowed shares without needing to buy them back.
I do wonder who is doing the selling apart from the shorters. They are certainly assisting the shorters and they may be those who set stop loss orders plus nervous holders watching the drop in share price.
The short total (as reported) is now 13,835,728 or 7.34% of shares on issue. That figure is around a week old and ASIC claims no accuracy for it.
