Apex Minerals shares surge ahead of trading halt
14:45, Monday, 12 January 2004
Sydney - Monday - January 12: (RWE) - A trading halt was placed
over Apex Minerals NL this afternoon, at the request of the company,
pending an announcement.
In its request to the stock exchange, Apex noted a "significant"
rise in its share price today (up 9.5c to as high as 29c before settling
at 26c).
"This coincides with Apex being nominated as 'Stock Pick of The
Week' by Internet-based company 'The Inside Trader'," Apex executive
chairman Mr Stephen Stone said.
"We also advise that the company is at an advanced stage of
negotiations and documentation in relation to its participation in two
overseas exploration projects.
"An announcement in this regard is imminent," Mr Stone added.
"Apex therefore requests that the company be placed in a trading
halt pending this announcement," he said.
