The trial cost is different to the product cost isnt it?

Total cost of a trial would include the cost of the product that is going to be used for the trial I would have thought. The product used in the trial will almost certainly not be the final product used commercially as the trials will often dictate the fine tuning of parameters etc. so they would only produce an amount as required for the trial. Obviously the agreement has been to share the costs but as digga asks, $12mill? Maybe that's correct, Phase II trials aren't usually cheap.
