What I am trying to say but I think that everyone missed the point.
Putin goal was to use historical colonialism as a justification for expansionism and recreating the USSR. The sanctions has forced Russia to seek out the help of China to recreate a financial system to enable Russia to a limited extent defy sanctions.
The consequences of using China as a life line. 1. It undermines Russia being an independent nation by relying on China's financial system for survival. 2 China will have excessive power and be able to dictate to Russia their foreign policy, terms of trade, and basically have a major impact how Russia is governed. 3. It also undermines Russia's goal to create the old USSR if they are governed by another country. 4. It places Russia at risk of losing territory to China. 5. It technically makes Russia a Chinese financial territory which in my view is the same as losing the war but with more severe consequences. ( loss of sovereign power and wealth)
