I recall reading an interview with a Putin insider very early in his Presidency.
It was said that Putin had never forgotten how the US/Saudi manipulation of the price of oil had brought the Soviet Union to disintegration. The inference was that he had learned then that economics is a far more effective weapon against a large & powerful state than are weapons.
Could Russia again be a victim of the same strategy ..... deje vu & if so will Putin bend over & take it like his predecessors?
