You are making quite a simplistic argument, which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with whether coal or fossil fuels are bad, or even worse than the alternative for the climate. Rather then have me make the debate, I would urge you watch these videos from those who are more qualified. Both sides of the argument are presented very articulately.
