its possible to recognise that the original variant that escaped from the WIV (either deliberately, or on purpose) was dangerous, but subsequent variants got progressively milder yet the government 'responses' got increasingly nonsensical and harsher, as if a deliberate attempt to take more and more control of peoples lives

its also possible to recognise that the original variant was dangerous, and maybe needed some medical intervention like a 'vaccine' but also recognise that taking a vaccine for the original variant, when we have a new, very mild variant, is nonsense (not to mention the risk/benefit ratio changes for ages etc). Like taking a vaccine for chicken pox when you are trying to prevent measles.

Regarding the war, wars are usually for national security reasons (nato advancement), or energy. I believe this is both in this case. Kings in the past used to have to ride into battle with their army, risk their own life what what they believe in. Today we have pollies sitting in ivory towers sending 18 year old fit men to die for bs reasons.
