you either rip off the bandaid quickly or you let it fester for multiple generations
Northern Ireland is a better example.....ethnic minorities in Australia are not trying to claim independent statehood
an empire relocates people to stake a claim......then leaves them there when the empire collapses
sure.....not the fault of the people and their descendants.......but also not the problem of the new country these settlers now occupy
UK should have offered all people who identify as British to leave Ireland at independence.......likewise Russia should have offered all people who identify as Russian to leave the Ukraine
