    I don't doubt the definition you provided, nor that not all Europe was involved. But I think most people, taking an objective view, could at least understand why Russia felt they were fighting against the West. The map of Europe in 1941 is pretty clear... without USSR, who was going to stop Germany? (Also @tangs)
