@TonEdi it makes horrible reading - but I remember similar stories from occupation times after the war - in Austria - - my Mum spoke a Slavic language and that saved her and us from horrible crimes at least twice, which I remember.
The story of the broomstick rape - seems to have been a favourite - I remember a similar one being whispered about, having occurred in the forest near my grandparents' village - I was not supposed to have heard it, but the horror in people's faces was so obvious, a curious child finds ways . . .
one would think we/they have moved on from that barbarism - but it makes me less empathetic to posters who try to uphold the 'Russian case' - and are fairly dripping with lascivious anticipation of a Russian victory.
I do hope peace will eventually be negotiated.
