My view is that the US, NATO and the EU did became lazy, disinterested and distracted away from cold war and neocon agendas of the past. Until now.

Until now, NATO DID NOT WANT Ukraine as a member. Thus the bluster from Lavrov about NATO encroachment can only be considered bullsh#t and lies.

Ordinary Russians and Ukrainians don't want war. They don't want to see pitched battles between Russian and Ukrainian forces. Zelensky did not act as the aggressor. Putin did and Putin may pay a very hard political price for his imperialistic blunder.
