The unthinkable is about to be realised

US + NATO will utilise the premise that

'We are not attacking Russia directly and will not operate on Russian soil but we will move into Ukraine on a peacekeeping mission and any Russian aggression towards NATO peacekeepers will be considered an attack on NATO '

Its all coming together in the meantime US are planning surgical air and/or land launched strikes at the ready should Russian forces attack peacekeepers.. this would be in advanced planning stage..

prepare for the next phase folks .. nuclear war ? I don't think so yet because I believe Putin's calculations will include the fact that nuclear means US will not hold back any more.. They would absolutely be deployed at full strength and Moscow / Kremlin would be a target
