Feb 22 failure of the Russians is more of an intelligence failure than a military one. Putin developed a team of highly incompetent deputies over the years who's tasks were to safeguard Putin money making and bribing mechanism. A civil engineer with racial issues was appointed to manage and develop the second largest army and the greatest collection of nuclear arsenal in the world. Drunkard clown Medvedev and KSB mate Patrushev were given the most valued security apparatus. All they could do was protect and safeguard Putin to stay at the helm. They never said NO to Putin not because of fear of getting off side but due to lack of knowledge on the subject. Unlike the west where dozens of advisers are employed in critical decision making, Russia employed practically none as the closest allies were reluctant to employ more heads to share the loot. Same command structure and function runs down the military with the added ingredient of alcoholism.Fortunately for Ukraine, Russian military culture hasn't changed for over a century is the reason they have not won a modern war since losing to Japan in 1905.
