Winning a battle is good for supporters morale, little else though.

    gee you post some nonsense

losing the battle of Kyiv cost russia:
    1. lost troops which at that stage they didn't have many of anyway - net reuslt - a mobilisation (which took MORE time)
    2. wasted time
    3. losing the element of surprise
    4. lost a significant number of tanks and some other equipment
    5. in morale of troops and confidence in their leaders

I'm also (guessing) that the defeat of the russ,( the only time they tried to do the right thing and move quickly),
also caused an over cautious approach from russian generals from then on relying on artillery to totally destroy prior to any advance .
(We haven't seen any fast paced movement from russia attempted since)
