Lets stop this nonsense too of NATO "choosing to expand" ....has been posted before ....countries ASK to join !
Should NATO reffuse them so russia has some easy pickings left on the table ??
I have no problems with countries choosing their own allies and can't see anyone should .

Should russia be deferred to , given special privileges to interfere in their numbers policies ?
Why , they aren't a great power economically or militarily it seems anymore .

Sweden nd Finland are the recent ones .... why give up neutrality ?
What triggered giving up a long relationship with russia ?
Obvious answer - blatant aggression and annexation by russia in Ukraine .

Maybe if NATO had EVER had a conflict with russia it might be different but they never have or come close to .
Only one aggressor in Europe and NATO keeps them honest .
