He did not like an idea of Donbas having a special status within Ukraine. He liked an idea of Donbas being razed to the ground and population free. Well, he will go down in the history as the president who destroyed his own country."

Yeah but "Putin is bad", it's ok to have agreements with him that you have absolutely no intention of keeping. It's fine to ignore any peaceful options but, instead, ignore all the warnings, fire up a rebellion, open questionable biolabs, have a US senator call for Putin's assassination and threaten to pre-emptively hit Russia before they can react.

Why would Putin get concerned by any of that? "Putin bad ... Putin bad" repeat to fade!
