From memory, it took the Ukrainians over a month from the start of the Kherson counter-offensive to reach Kherson city. A few points;
- Russian defenses effectively collapsed during the Kherson counter-offensive.
- Russia had much more time to harden it's defensive lines prior to the current counter-offensive.
Given the above, I'm not sure why anyone would've thought the current counter-offensive would be at the Azov coast by now. We aren't even a week into it yet.
What I'm seeing is pro-Russian commentators injecting unrealistic talking points into the conversation, particularly in relation to where the Ukrainians have pushed to after only a week or so, and of equipment losses - as though the job of APC's in particular wasn't to provide protection to mechanized infantry.
