This all happen because a democratic sovereign country in Ukraine allowed their citizen the right to oust their Pro Putin President who was his puppet and overwhelming elect Zelenskyy which he can't control. Interestingly, Putin signed a deal to export wheat to China just before the invasion and guess what, Ukraine is the largest exporter of wheat because of their fertile land (very interesting history around how this happen). This is always been about territory, now he can control the energy and agricultural market.
