A Russian agent has been detained by Ukraine's security service (SBU) for allegedly preparing a missile attack on Kyiv.
The SBU said the 23-year-old suspect worked for the main directorate of Russia's armed forces and had sought out the locations of Ukraine's defence forces in the capital region.
It added the man was "most interested" in Ukrainian military maintenance bases, but also "leaked" information about power substations in Kyiv.
He was reportedly caught "red handed" filming a military base and "binding" its GPS coordinates to an electronic map.
The man, who lives in Odesa, was being paid by Russian military intelligence, the SBU claimed.
A laptop and smartphone with evidence of his activity against Ukraine was found during a search of his home, it added.
Officials said the suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment.
