Ukraine claims to have destroyed two Russian bombers in attacks on an airfield yesterday.
"Two were destroyed, two were damaged [and] two cannot be repaired," Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview with Ukrainian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty last night.
He added a fifth Russian aircraft could also have been hit, but did not confirm exactly where or when the attacks took place.
Russian officials have reported a spate of attacks on airfields over the past week, including on Soltsy in the Novgorod region on Saturday and on Shaykovka in the Kaluga region on Monday.
British intelligence claimed Russia was likely to have lost a nuclear-capable TU-22M3 supersonic long-range bomber in the attack on Soltsy.
Russian officials are yet to respond to Mr Budanov's latest claims.
