Thanks to western AD Kyiv has largely survived Putin's terror missile and drone strikes, not because of any recently found humanitarian decency by Putin.

How serious can you say Putin is on "peace" talks? Just look at how serious Putin has taken previous "peace" agreements. He never implemented any of the Minsk 1 or 2 requirements and then eventually canned Minsk when he announced annexation of parts of eastern Ukraine. But now he's losing ground he's become a serious partner in "peace" negotiations? he just used the lull in fighting from Minsk to build up his forces, just like he'd use any "peace" negotiations now to do the same again.

Putin is just not trustworthy.

Look at Piggy, he had a deal with Putin, where did Piggy end up? Look at the grain deal Putin keeps breaking, did Putin keep his word here? What happened to the Budapest Memorandum? Ukraine is correct in saying that Putin cannot be negotiated with, he has proven time and time again that any deals he makes will not hold.

Peace could come today if Putin ends his war against Ukraine.

Russian forces leave Ukraine we'll have real peace. Putin could make that happen today.
