and don't come with, oh the Germans are not paying so much.

According to an evaluation by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, around 1.1 million refugees who fled the war in Ukraine were registered in Germany by July 2023.

"Since June 1, 2022, refugees from Ukraine have been able to receive benefits from the basic security for job seekers, help with subsistence (social assistance) or basic security in old age and in the case of reduced earning capacity. There is also a federal contact point for refugees with disabilities or care needs. In addition, the federal government is helping with 333 federal properties in which refugees from Ukraine can be accommodated."

They have acces to the HartsIV social security "benefits". This means roughly 450€ a month and a familiy of four get rent payed for an appartment of maximum of 85m².

Job center pays rent: but what is the maximum?

How big the apartment and how much the maximum rent can cost depends on the city and the usual rental costs there - and on how many people live in the household.
Many job centers go for a person, for example.from up to 50 sqm apartment size, with four people from up to 85 sqm.

Clarify how high the rent may be with the job center responsible for you.
Before you sign a rental contract, you need a declaration of consent from the job center. In certain cases, the job center can also transfer the money for the rent directly to the landlord.

The job center can also advance the deposit as an interest-free loan that has to be repaid later. If you already live in an apartment whose rent is not reasonable from the job center's point of view, the job center can still pay the rent for a few months. Then it may require you to move to a cheaper apartment. Can I live in whichever federal state I want?Everyone arriving in Germany from Ukraine has been assigned to a federal state since March 16, 2022.This is taken care of by those responsible at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.

A lot of Ukrainians are situated in the south of Germany, i.e. Munich. The average rent in Munich is €21.94/m². You can calculate the monthly costs for Germany by yourself.

Now think about the Germans ,who lost their jobs and are now in a "felt competition" with refugees, concerning social benefits, when this war continues.

A the financing of this social benefits? For a shorter period all right, but in the longer run, this is not possible.
