The extension of martial law needs to be approved by parliament. That martial law extensions are being approved, means parliament approves. Happy to set any confusion straight.

He may not win an election, and Ukraine are losing the war so it does make sense to impose martial law in such circumstances. Zelensky introduced the bill to extend it. i.e. effectively he has banned elections by extending martial law.
