So Spuddly claims regarding Nth Korea's sub fleet:

"Those r the ones ppl know, they have really advance stuffs, now with Russian nuclear sub tech collaboration/upgrades.

Think of german u-boat raids in ww2 Only this time Nuclear Armed

Well golly gee, I suppose you do know for example that the 40 Sang-O-Class subs you waft loftily about, are tiny, short ranged and dive about as deep as my kids paddle pool?

And just to ram it home, these subs are based on the 1960's Yugoslavian Heroj class submarines.

For comparison, the Australian Oberon class design subs were of a similar platform vintage before Australia in the 1970's, realised a 1960's platform was ageing and outdated and would need to be replaced and was, with the decision to build six new submarines on a 'modern' platform in 1987.

Subsequent to placing this order, the Australian Navy progressively decommission the ageing “Oberons" with HMAS OXLEY decommissioned on 13 February 1992, OTWAY on 17 February 1994, OVENS on 1 December 1995, ORION on 4 October 1996, ONSLOW on 29 March 1999 and OTAMA in December 2000.

No one would normally be silly enough to gloat about Nth Korea's submarine fleet capacity, but just maybe.... spuddily is in the know wink.png.

BTW, how did it work out for the Wolf Packs by the end of WWII?
