.The basic Minsk Agreement in summary:
This agreement consisted of a package of measures, including a ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line, release of prisoners of war, constitutional reform in Ukraine granting self-government to certain areas of Donbas and restoring control of the state border to the Ukrainian government. (source Wikipedia)

IMO , there had been some (apparent) agreement to the above in principal , so
that would be an apt place to re-commence negotiations.

Otherwise this war is going to totally wreck The Ukraine, wreck Europe economically ,
and bring about a global recession generally and then when massive damage is done
there will still have to be a negotiated settlement.

So the question is: how many more lives have to be lost or destroyed, how much more
property has to be wrecked, how much more wealth has to be obliterated before
these warring maniacs come to their senses?

In war there is no right or wrong; just who is the most powerful and who wins
and who looses . In war morality is merely chook feed for the plebs, IMO,
    and Political Realists realise that.

And the real tragedy of war is that the stiffs who get out there on the battlefield
and give their lives or who are maimed do so for a country that has treated
them shabbily (the average foot soldier is working working class ) and if
they survive, who are likely to suffer for the rest of their lives without adequate reward.
(just listen to our recent Royal Commission submissions on ex-armed forces
suicides and their war experiences are far from what is being experienced by
both sides in the Ukrainian trenches)

War is the problem....not the answer.

Before this war, the Ukraine was the poorest country and its working class
was the poorest of the poor!
