Kievan rus was a loose term of ethnicity ....not statehood

Muscovy and the Kievan empire of the time might both have been described as "russ" because of their viking connections but they were separate
Muscovy which was simply a trapping and timber town got taken over by the Mongols after that

so please don't try and pretend they are the same or that somehow russia owns Ukraine merely because of a name
