The Great War was not fought to the end with a victor and vanquished. The Armistice lasted a whole 11 years before the most deadly, destructive war EVA reignited between the same foes. America, roundly abused as the greatest warmonger, helped defeat Germany in Europe and, at great cost in lives, saved us and the rest of Asia from Japan. They did not start it.

Korea started when the North, with Chinese/Russian support, pushed the Sth Koreans almost into the sea before the allies, with the Great Satan, America doing the heavy lifting pushed them back to where they started. The US did not invade the North. That war ended with another armistice and has been simmering since with the North living in abject poverty.

Viet Nam was another Chinese/Russian invasion which America, reasonably, it could be argued, wanted to stop before creeping into the rest of Asia. The US withdrew unconditionally and Vet Nam enjoys self determination.

Iraq 1 was a response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait and refusal to withdraw. It ended in a cease fire, not total defeat, so Iraq remained a bad player that America had to have a second clean up.

The Cold War didn't have a victor so is still being fought today. Money spent breaking Russia now will repay a huge peace dividend, Reagan thought he had achieved.

I see two things: The US does not make a habit of unprovoked attacks and ceasefires only last until the foes can rebuild their forces and start again.

Peacenicks have never prevented a war and have never extinguished the flames of a hot one.
