Ironic:

Aus Trade talks broke down yesterday with the EC and there
is not likely a break through for years.

Presently our biggest enemy, China, is thawing out its trade
barriers against Aus exports with only wine remaining.

Since the Ukrainian war began , we have been pouring hundreds
of $millions into the Ukraine to support the Ukraine's ousting of
Russian troops from its territory and by implication protect
Europe generally from Russian aggression.

And this is where the irony comes in from a trade point of view:
(a) China, our biggest enemy is liberalising trade relations with Aus
with a Aus/China FTA and only the us wine barrier remaining .

(b) Europe who is our friend and whom we defacto contribute
to its security by donating funds and war materials to the Ukraine,
has a trade Iron Curtain preventing Aus from exporting to Europe.

With a friend like that, who needs an enemy...eh?
