Ukraine strategy seems to be doing a U-turn: focussing on building defences against Russia in 2024 annexing more oblasts north of those already taken, rather than futilely trying to regain those Russia now mostly controls.

I wonder where in Ukraine, Russia will focus its offensive efforts with the newly trained troops when they become available next Spring? Send them from the north or increase the momentum from the south to take more oblasts?
