"Why all the NATO countries aren't supplying more heavy hardware and long range missiles is beyond me"
-----
Actually for very practical reasons. Apart from the fear of escalation with RuZZia but this seems to be diminishing, the Ukranians dont have much experience or training with a lot of NATO heavy weapon systems. For eg I assume it would take months to train someone up on a Patriot Missile System. Even smaller weapon systems like the Switchblade, they had to send Ukranians to the USA to train up on it.
I mean there is basic training to become competent then there is time to become proficient and then expert. Long process. KISS principle. Simple and small weapons more accessible.
