    Yanukovic did a LOT of bad things and I can see why you don't want to talk too much about the Tymoshenko arrest .

    the EU simply has high standards for democracy - for elections - for political prisoners - for having corruption removed
    I think you acknowledged a Polish leader wasn't too happy ......but those rules are there and are maintained and applied .....if a country wants to join .....and they do .....even Serbia wants to join .....then either meet those rules or fail in membership .

    Of course Ukraine did release Tymoshenko , as they should've , and she ran third in the presidential election that saw Zel gain power and she continues influential in Ukrainian politics .
