Indeed the current Ukraine government want to join the EU. The EU will have to change the rules for who qualifies to join the EU for that to happen....basically throw away the Copenhagen Criteria To Join the EU a country must hold regular elections with a functioning stable government and stable institutions free of corruption that uphold rights for minorities. Once Ukraine resumes regular electoral processes and demonstrates that it can once again hold free and fair elections, it would be moving towards compliance with the political criteria. If Zelensky is removed via a new round of Maidan where does that leave the political criteria? The country must have a functioning market economy and the capacity to cope with competition and market forces within the EU. This involves having a viable economy that can function without disturbing market dynamics of the Union. Given the conflict , the population military mobilisation and the refugee situation Ukraine's Economy is not in great shape right now and the country is in a state of extreme budgetary stress..

no , that's wrong in logic ....... the assumption you make is that Ukraine can't deal with the corruption as they attempting to now, that they can't change progress has been made personally I don't want to see EU relax their rules and I'm sure they won't I don't believe that Ukraine can join quickly but in maybe 7 or eight years perhaps .
