How long have the US Navy been bombing the mad mullah houthis ? 3 days? idk what drones or actual anti-ship missiles the houthis have access to but they just need a bit of luck and less than 100% successful US Navy countermeasures and you will never hear the end of it on propaganda channels. They don't even have to sink anything just keep launching cheap drones every few weeks and tie up a US naval fleet and prevent ships sailing to israel.

IMO the surface fleet of billion dollar ships is expensive and not necesarily as relevant in 2024 because you can get a BCF inflatable canoe and put 150kg of explosives in it with a mobile phone guidance system and an outboard and even if you lose 100 of them the ammunition and fuel and manpower the US Navy uses to counteract the threat costs quite a lot more than the GDP of Yemen.
