Yup, I see this as Putin's off ramp. He's got no hope of taking all of Ukraine. And yes he can carpet bomb Kyiv back to the stone age. There will be a negotiated settlement that involves land being given up, unfortunately.

But in the grand scheme of things, Putin is done and dusted politically. Soon Finland and Sweden joins NATO. RuZZia's army is in tatters and will require decades to fix and reform. And Ukraine, well.... no idea what happens there and who pays for the damage - Putin will have a big bill to pay for his annexed lands, all while punitive sanctions and embargoes continue. Putin is f*#ked as a barrel chested strongman!
