Hmm. Putin is showing all the signs of a cornered rat.

Here's a link to an except from his biography, which although seriously showing bias towards Putin as the subject nevertheless shows how much he grew up with adversity, and taking a gamble against all odds.

It's his parent's and grandparent's stories, but they are deep in his psyche. In some ways he's fighting his father who was a saboteur.

What we don't know is how much of this is concocted. That is the story of the cornered rat seems designed to have us believe he will behave irrationally. Whereas his closest ex colleagues say he is very rational but is such a thug and bully that he takes any offer of compromise as encouragement to push on.
