What beats me is why Alexey Navalny ever went back to Putin's Russia. Surely after a couple of failed attempts on your life you would realise that the demented dwarf would stop at nothing to take you out and surely Alexey could have seen that he could be far more effective at opposing Putin from outside Russia than locked up in one of his gulags on starvation rations and polonium tea. Of course Alexey wouldn't have been immune to assassination attempts outside Russia either but at least he would have access to western medical resources, a decent diet and have the company of his family unlike his current rather hopeless situation.

The whole situation would change of course if some wonderful person managed to give Poo Tin some of his own medicine and rid the world of one of the nastiest dictators we have seen in a long time. If he was still alive Alexi would be let out of captivity, would probably win any free election and start Russia back on the long road of world respectability.
