Nice reading. You conveniently omit to mention that Taraki requested the military intervention by the Soviets many times, but they refused. You conveniently omit to mention that the conflict was a Cold War era proxy war. So, the destruction and occupation of the country for 20 years in order to capture their man is justifiable by you. It just shows how incompetent their army is and how ridiculous your argument is. You conveniently omit to mention how many Afghans they killed in process. Chechnya is part of Russia, so I do not know how concept of imperialism applies.
No country has any right to invade another sovereign country just because they can. They could have killed Osama any time, any where, but bigger picture was the next door neighbor.
