just back to the US again ...I think you'll be aware but others maybe not .....US has been a net petroleum exporter since 2020 and in 2022 the net exports were 1.2 mill barrels per day
gas even more so , so very much a net energy exporter
although as you correctly pointed out US doesn't want to see a big jump in OP because of the negative effect on world economies (and their own )
