I agree but their may be one exception which is when naval ships are in large oceans and away from the shoreline as at this stage range is limited and there would be time to intercept (maybe). Carrier groups tend to operate a fair way out but they are the ultimate target. That said I suspect the newer generation missiles like the Kinsel will be the problem there.

Re the Chinese 'building' islands I have always thought that is to push the US carriers further away for the reasons we are discussing ie launching drones and missiles from these islands is a real threat.
