just to illustrate my point ..... two rather straight forward countries with no russian conflict or russia occupying their terroitories in any way ......took Finland 11 mionths to join and Sweden still hasn't been accepted yet ....Georgia more complicated by virtue of the russ siezure of their territory ....

Along with neighboring Sweden, the country applied to join NATO on 18 May 2022. Following ratification, Finland became a member of NATO on 4 April 2023. Finland has a 1,340-kilometre (830 mi) border with Russia, which upon accession more than doubled NATO's pre-existing border with Russia.

Every single parliament of each NATO country (not their leader ) needs to endorse acceptance of any new member - impossible for the US to control that !!

And as far as weapons manufacture go ...... the truth is russia are BIG TIME militarists and that never seems to worry you .
