Independent media is an oxymoron in Russia. What can you expect with 15 years jail hanging over people's heads? The 'independent' judicial system there approves 99% of prosecutors recommendations (maybe that should be demands?), so a long jail sentence is a certainty for people who don't fall into line as required by the Kremlin.
