Just a couple of clues on the type of person that Navalny was.

Back in the early 2000's Navalny was trying to ride on the crest of Russian nationalist movements. Which were saturated with neo-nazis. Many neo-nazi organisations were sponsored by foreign NGO's. To stir sheet up, taking advantage of the whole anti-migrant attitudes. He took part in many nationalist demonstrations. Said bad things about muslims/migrants, calling them cockroaches.

After the Russian government started cracking down on neo-nazi organisations, he quickly changed his stance.
Became a member of theYale World Fellows program after studying at Yale's School of Global Affairs. Which is absolutely saturated with members of US/EU intelligence communities. That's round about the time he put out one of his first "anti-corruption" investigations. Around the same time he was investigated on corruption charges. They aren't made up charges like Assange's rapey allegations. The guy was actually involved in a corruption scheme. And the Russian government basically let him walk and do his thing. They even let him leave the country after he was allegedly poisoned.

Round about the same time he created his little anti-corruption movement and popularized it by exposing various corruption schemes within the Russian government. Personally I've got a bunch of questions regarding the way he obtained his information. He says he obtained it via "open sources". But if you take the time to look into it, some of the information he exposed could have only come from either Russian government insiders or foreign intelligence services. But he never filed any cases, didn't sue anyone. Although with the information that he possessed, he certainly could have tried.

    Supported Russia's invasion of Georgia.
During one of the interviews. When he was asked about Crimea (after the events of 2014), he basically said that if he ever became president, he wouldn't give Crimea back to Ukraine. Eventually he reversed on that statement.

The guy was slimey, and changed his actions/narratives based on the current political situation, to keep positioning himself as anti-Putin.

All of his actions were geared towards an overthrow of the Russian government. According to the few of his interviews, he had no idea what he would do with corruption once he was in power. He had no plans as far as Russia's domestic/international policies go. He had no plans as far as economic development of Russia goes. His whole idea was centered around "Putin be gone".

I'm amazed that the Russian government let him operate for as long as he did. I'm amazed that the "totalitarian" Russian government let Navalny fly his drones over properties that allegedly belong to high-level members of the Russian government without any repercussions. I mean have you ever heard about Mark Middleton? Former Clinton aide? Did he oppose anyone? Did he fly any drones above any properties that belong to members of US government? Found hanging from a tree, with a shotgun wound to his chest - no weapon anywhere around him.
