Russian man admits smuggling US-made military-grade microelectronics to Russia

A Russian man has today pleaded guilty in a US court to charges that he smuggled large quantities of American-made, military-grade microelectronics to Russia.

Maxim Marchenko, 51, who had been based in Hong Kong, was taken into US custody in September, when he and two unnamed Russian co-conspirators were accused of using shell companies to conceal the fraudulent procurement of so-called OLED micro-displays.

Zelenskyy announces new commander of Ukraine's Logistics Forces

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Volodymyr Karpenko as new commander of Ukraine's Logistics Forces today, it has been announced.

General Karpenko, previously logistics commander of Ukraine's ground forces, replaced Oleh Huliaka, who had held the position since 2021.

Poland to launch military satellites

Poland plans to launch a series of military observation satellites next year, a deputy defence minister announced today.
