I don't have a problem with democracy at work but consider this; In the last few years the Aust Govts (Labor and LNP) agreed to the establishment of a US base in Darwin,which has cemented Australia as a nuclear target for China. Also more recently the US has been saber-rattling with China and pressing its position that the US & its allies (that's Aust) will go to war against China (invariably a nuclear war) if China were to invade Taiwan. How will democracy at work help us to avoid being embroiled in a nuclear war with China. We cant avoid it. We the people must be involved at the big picture level
