well they have taken some of the best bits of Ukraine .....although whether they are able to hold them medium and longer term is another matter .

But I agree ....in net, a huge loss economically ,strategically and militarily for russia - will set them back years in some ways ....in other ways the loss will be pernanent ...... as for instance their dpendance on China ....which itself scares India away from them too .

was supposed to be a quick opportunistic coup - huge miscalculation from the master strategist .
