The topic is the Ukraine war...not Russia's political system .
I agree that the Russian economic system is a mix of State Capitalism
and private enterprise (predominantly Oligarchs ) overseen by a dictatorial
regime with the guise of a parliamentary democracy. (The Duma)
But of course war is a different animal with its own structures which
are neither democratic nor moral......just win by whatever it takes,
In this sense war has its own values that are more akin with Machiavellian
philosophy than than our judeo-christian values.on which Western Civilisation is based.
This is why we differ in our attitudes towards this war because you "smuggle-in"
your personal morality and as such barrack for the Ukraine, while I see this
war as a failure of our civilisation where Hobbesian "state of nature" takes over
life is "nasty, brutal and short"
